Dear Friends,
We're continuing to load up our musical calendar for the summer ahead, and today I want to highlight two events that fellow classical music lovers will not want to miss!
First up, on July 12th, one of the country's most dynamic and young musical couples - cellist Cameron Crozman and pianist Meagan Milatz. Cameron is considered widely as Canada's next great cello star and has also been newly named as Assistant Artistic Director of one of the country's longest surviving music festivals - The Festival of the Sound (Parry Sound). Meagan was hailed as one of Canada's "Top 30 Under 30" music stars by the CBC, and at her young age has already shared the stage with some of the world's greatest musicians. Together, the two of them are an absolute firecracker of a team (and I'm not referring to the fact that they both have red hair). If you search YouTube, you'll find plenty of performances of them together, but I found this full-length recital offering from a performance they gave in Ottawa. It's outstanding:
Their full program for Stratford has been announced and will include the beloved Rachmaninoff Sonata. Here's a link to their event with us this summer:

A week later on July 19th, we welcome back the National Youth Orchestra of Canada (NYOC) with their conductor Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, whose appearances around the world include directing the symphonies of Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto... it's a long list. NYOC is the country's leading summer training program for young orchestral musicians, and the energy these 80+ artists bring to the stage as they come together from across the country for a few short weeks of collaboration is electric. Most audiences end up crying at the end of every performance - it’s that powerful. Here they are in action (with a different conductor):

That's a lot of young talent joining us this year!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
