World-renowned pianist John Novacek returns to Stratford Summer Music with the jazz-era masterpiece, George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. This iconic work is a brilliant fusion of classical and jazz styles, full of vigour and vitality. In Novacek’s very capable hands, this is sure to be an outstanding event.
Novacek regularly tours all over the world as a soloist and chamber artist. A favoured festival guest, he is a tireless advocate for contemporary music and a frequently commissioned composer.
Novacek will perform solo works by Mozart, Chopin, Liszt and Rachmaninoff, and will be joined for this performance by a superb chamber ensemble in the concert’s title work. The entire evening will burst with energy, colour and musical spirit.
