Ms. Forrester has lived her entire life in Canada, always promoting and encouraging Canadian talent of great promise and enterprise. For this anniversary season, Summer Music is delighted to present three programs featuring young Canadian of exceptional musicality who have previously impressed our festival audiences with their performances. Program #1Pius Cheung, marimba. First appearing in 2008 at Stratford City Hall, Council Chambers. Thursday, August 19. 11:15am. St. Andrew’s Church. $10. Open Seating. One hour. Pius will include his own composition, Symphonic Poem, in its Canadian premiere, and conclude with his own brilliant arrangement of J.S.Bach’s Goldberg Variations for solo marimba which was one of the moving moments of Summer Music’s eighth season. www.piuscheung.com |
